Our history
History of Mentoura
At Mentoura, our journey began with the distinct experiences and shared vision of co-founders Michael and Justin. With Michael’s expertise in web design and HR, and Justin’s background in global hospitality and sustainable tourism, their time as tour guides in Norway ignited a passion for sustainability in tourism. This period, coupled with their academic research, uncovered a vital need in the industry: strategic, sustainable practices.
Drawing on our diverse experiences across various countries, we identified a significant challenge in the tourism industry: the creation and implementation of a sustainability strategy are often too long, too expensive, and overly complex. To address this, we developed an in-depth database incorporating our expertise, insights from other tourism companies, and detailed certification and reporting criteria.
